So after what Most people consider it A very strong, if not great, free agency period this summer, the Los Angeles Lakers are still in desperate need of another big man to draw from.
As of now, they have Anthony Davis, who is dominant but injury prone and arguably better suited to play 4-of-5, and Jackson Hayes, a young athletic center who has upside but is somewhat limited.
Executive Rob Pelinka reiterated Lakers desire to add another big man to their roster, especially since they have two roster spots open. They are said to be considering Christian Wood or Bismak Biombo for one of those locations.

“Centers Christian Wood and Bismac Biombo are considering a 14th-place finish on the list, according to team sources who are not authorized to speak publicly on the matter,” Jovan Buha wrote. Those sources said, “The Lakers were interested in Dario Saric before he signed with the Golden State Warriors earlier this week. Pelinka made it clear that LA is hoping to find a different player than Hayes from a skill-set perspective.”
While Hayes can block shots, run on the floor and throw thunderous dives, LA could use a center that can physically match the Nikola Jokics and Joel Embiids of the league, as well as maybe hit enough 3-pointers to open things up for Davis and LeBron James.
Wood could certainly do the latter, but he’s considered a poor defensive player. Biyombo, meanwhile, can place physical screens, rebounds and shots, but he lacks any outside shooting touch and is an undersized fifth at 6-foot-8.
