Dillon Brooks and the Memphis Grizzlies talked about their big game in their series against the Los Angeles Lakers, and all they got was a lot of embarrassment and a fine after losing the series 4-2.
Worst of all, Brooks doesn’t even regret some of the comments he made about Lakers star LeBron James.
The NBA announced on Sunday that Brooks was fined $25,000 after violating the league’s media access policies in the playoffs. Brooks refused to speak to the media after all three games in Los Angeles, including the loss in the series finale in Game 6 on Friday.
Brooks continued to elude the media after he made comments about James watching the second game of the series, calling him old and saying he liked to “poke bears”.
Well, the bear was definitely poked and James made it his mission to embarrass Brooks and the Grizzlies. He did it during and after the series. James finally responded on social media on Saturday by quoting Jay-Z’s words on Twitter and posting a photo on Instagram with a caption about how if you see him fighting Grizzly bears, you should help the bear.
One would think that given the embarrassment Brooks and Grizzlies were put to on the floor, and the fine he received, he might feel some regret. he noAnd he made it very clear during the Grizzlies’ end-of-year media availability when he said he has no regrets because that’s “who he is.”
