The Los Angeles Clippers stole Game 1 of their first-round series against the Phoenix Suns Sunday night, winning by a 7.5-point margin.
Now, the Clippers are at the same spot on the road against the Suns in Game 2.
Kawhi Leonard had a huge game in Game 1 and the Clippers got a production across their rotation to pull off the upset without Paul George.
It was the Suns’ first loss with Kevin Durant in the lineup, but it was also the first time the team had played a playoff team that wasn’t all starters.
It will be hard to win both in Phoenix, but the Clippers are much deeper than the Suns and they showed it in Game 1. Here’s a look at the odds for this Game 2 matchup:
Clippers vs. Suns odds, spread and total
Clippers vs Suns prediction and selection
I can’t believe the Suns put up 7.5 again after how close Game 1 was, especially since the Clippers got a 3-for-19 shooting performance from Russell Westbrook.
Westbrook made several winning plays down the stretch, including a game-sealing and save block against Devin Booker.
syllable key? Win the battle over the glass. Los Angeles grabbed 15 offensive rebounds in this game, including several late boards to keep the Suns at bay.
Phoenix doesn’t have much depth with Cameron Payne out and Monte Williams rotating with Ish Wainwright, Josh Okogie and Terrence Ross, all of whom were ineffective on Sunday.
I will gladly support the Clippers for coverage of the spread in Game 2.
