Brad Stephens shuts down rumors about Celtics incompatibility appeared in the original NBC Sports Boston
There will be no shortage of stories for the Boston Celtics this summer after their Game 7 loss to the Miami Heat.
Chief among them is the question of whether they should “reboot” it and keep its core Jason TatumAnd Jaylen BrownAnd Marcus Smart together. judging by C’s President Brad Stevens’ end-of-season press conferenceWell, that seems to be the plan.
But after watching them come up short again in the postseason, some are questioning the chemistry between the players. Are they simply walking along?
Stevens answered that question on the latest episode of the Celtics Talk Podcast with Chris Forsberg.

Stephen said, “No.” “Man, I’d give anything to win Game 7 and play today because some of the conversations I had one-on-one with the guys, including on the ride home from that game, were so vulnerable and willing to do anything to play better it wasn’t like, “Well, our backs are against the wall, man, we’re in trouble. It was all, ‘We can do better. That was an embarrassing game and we have to play better.'”
What’s next for the Celtics coaching staff? Stephens shares his insight
Despite the evolution of the series, Stevens is proud of how his players have responded after losing the first three games.
“Games 1 and 2, we didn’t play well in those sudden moments and we got killed. In game three we just got our doors blown off and then you have a decision you have to make,” Stevens said. “To our men’s credit, the only thing that is indisputable is that when their backs are against the wall, their courage shows.”
