The Nuggets won Game 4 of the NBA Finals to take a 3-1 series lead in the Miami Heat as the series moved back to Denver.
The Nuggets return to Denver with a chance to clinch the series and win the NBA title for the first time in their history.
Denver won Game 4, 108-95, over the Heat despite Nikola Jokic getting five late fumbles, causing him to miss parts of the final quarter.
3 reasons why the Nuggets won Game 4 on the Heat
Bruce Brown
Bruce Brown has been great on defensive end for all series. In Game 4, he was able to be that guy on the offensive ground end as well. He’s had his moments in this series on the offensive end but it all came from actions from other players. In this game, he was able to create an offense himself.
At first, it seemed a little strange that he wasn’t conceding the ball to Jokic or Jamal Murray. After a while, it seemed like the right thing for Denver to do at times. He ended up with 21 points on 72 percent shooting.
The Nuggets needed someone to step up to Michael Porter Jr. who had struggled all series and Brown was that guy tonight.
Nikola Jokic
It was really tempting to put Murray on because of his performance when Jokic was off the ground in fourth. It was really tempting to put Denver’s 50 percent shooting from three into this spot instead. However, I had to go with MVP twice.
Jokic was unable to shoot the ball in this game but ended up scoring 23 points on 42 percent shooting from the floor.
He also dominated the boards with 12 rebounds. He ended up with five fouls but one of those fouls stinks.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon had an amazing game. It hit it big when Jokic was knocked out in the fourth quarter. He earned 27 points on 73% shooting from the floor.
At times, Gordon seemed unbeatable to Tee due to the fact that they didn’t have much strength to guard him. Tonight that statement was absolutely true.
Also, he was able to make ground on the outfield as he made three of his three-run triples in the game.
The Nuggets are now just one win away from the NBA title. With the home court advantage they have in Denver, the series appears to be over. Denver has to finish the job in Game 5 and can’t leave Jimmy Butler a chance to come back.
