Holy Cross has announced the addition of Drew Michaels as an assistant coach to the men’s hockey team.
Most recently, Michel served as the Director of Hockey Operations for Vermont. In this role, Michaels was responsible for pre-scouting opponents, post-scouting games, running team video sessions, and managing the team’s budget.
As a volunteer assistant coach at Vermont State the previous year, Michaels assisted with practice planning and staffing efforts for the Catamounts.
“We are excited to have Drew Michaels join our program as an assistant coach,” Holy Cross coach Bill Riga said in a statement. “He has a passion and energy for the game, which, when combined with his knowledge and experience at the college level, will be a great asset to our program. We look forward to having him arrive here and welcoming him and his fiancée, Annie, to Worcester.”
Prior to his time at Burlington, Michel worked as a skills coordinator and director of goaltending at Elev802, assistant coach at Franklin Pierce, and assistant varsity hockey coach at Winchendon School.
A 2018 graduate of UMass Dartmouth, Michaels was a goaltender for the Pirates men’s hockey team.
