It’s not often (if ever) you see an MMA fight that ended in a judo throw, but that’s exactly what happened to former UFC welterweight Alex Oliveira.
At Titan FC 82 at Spinz 02 in Novi Sad, Serbia, Oliveira (25-14-1 MMA) landed a powerful throw on Stefan Sekulic with about 70 seconds left in the first round. The match was broadcast live on Friday night on UFC Fight Pass.
Sekulic (14-8 MMA) was pressing Oliveira against the cage with double hooks when Oliveira stepped up with a right foot and hit a judo throw. Sekulic appeared to snap out of the impact with the canvas, landing Oliveira a quick follow-up punch before getting up and walking off the scene as the referee rushed to call the fight.

The finish marked a return to the winning pole for Oliveira, who had given up his previous outing in April.
While under the UFC banner, the octagonal “Cowboy” Oliviera has been involved with a number of major names including Carlos Condit, Gunnar Nelson, Max Griffin, Shavkat Rakhmonov, Kevin Holland, and Donald Cerrone, among others.
Since exiting the UFC last March after an 11-10 round with the promotion, Oliveira is now 3-2, with every first-round win stopping. Win or lose, Oliveira always puts up an exciting fight, and his final ending is sure to be one of the most memorable in recent memory.
