Ultimate Fighting Championship UFC Vegas 71 will take place Saturday night. The April 22 event, from UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, is headlined by the heavyweight bout between Sergei Pavlovich and Curtis Blades.
Blaydes is the #4 heavyweight in the UFC. Blaydes is one of the top heavyweights in the UFC and has won his last three fights heading into this bout and seven of his last eight overall. He is 31 years old and in the prime of his career. We already know Blaydes has some of the best wrestling in his weight class, but his striking has also improved in recent years and he’s become one of the most popular heavyweights.
Pavlovich is the #3 ranked heavyweight in the UFC, so the Russian is actually a place above the Bladyes despite not having the UFC experience and quality of overall wins like his American opponent. However, Pavlovich is coming off huge knockout victories over Tai Toivasa and Derrick Lewis in his last two fights and has won his last five fights overall in the UFC by knockout after being stopped by Alistair Overeem in his debut. Since he’s only 30 years old, he’s actually one of the youngest heavyweights in the UFC and definitely one of the top contenders for the title.
