Many NBA fans were confused by the end of Game 6 between heat And Celtics.
After a late foul by Horford during Jimmy Butler’s three-point attempt, the officials reviewed the play and awarded the Miami forward three free throws. In addition, the judges added 0.9 seconds to the clock, leaving Boston with 3.0 seconds to save their season.

“Replaying the foul calling Horford (BOS) pursuant to the coach’s challenge is deemed unsuccessful,” the statement read. Horford (BOS) made contact with Butler (MIA) during the firing motion and an error was warranted. During the review, the restart center official also determined that 1) the error occurred at 3.0 seconds and adjusted the clock accordingly; and 2) an attempt was taken. Butler for shooting from behind the three-point line, thus three free throws were awarded.”
The league noted that the officials were correct in their judgment that Horford did in fact foul Butler, and that the 3.0 seconds placed on the clock were accurate based on the time the foul was made on Butler.
