The New York Knicks are a strong team in the playoffs right now.
To be a championship contender, they must add more talent to the roster after reaching the second round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
The Knicks have some resolutions to take on this casual action, and they’ve already parted ways with one of their best veterans.
They had a team option on Derrick Rose’s contract for next year that won’t be exercised, according to Newsday Sports’ Steve Popper.
The Knicks will not exercise an option on Derrick Rose’s contract. Liked by Thibs and the organisation, Rose had a diminished role on the field but was a professional throughout his session, a voice in the locker room, and this would give him an opportunity to explore available opportunities.

Rose didn’t have many minutes played for the Knicks this past season, going from 24.5 minutes per game last season to just 12.5 minutes this season.
His production also decreased, going from 12.0 to 5.6 points per game.
The former NBA MVP has played a diminished role with the Knicks this season despite loving and admiring Tom Thibodeau.
Now, the base will have the option to choose his new team and, hopefully, the opponent where he can see the minutes.
Rose is one of the most beloved players in the league, and at 32 years old, he still has plenty in the tank.
The Knicks are going in a different direction as they have to make profitable moves now and try to be in a good position before free agency.
Jalen Bronson and Julius Randle are the two best players at the moment, but this team needs an even bigger star to compete for the championship.
Zion Williamson has been mentioned among their potential targets, but time will tell if they can actually land the controversial Pelicans All-Star.
