Five-star point guard John Wall is looking for a new home and is ready to audition to find it.
According to TNT’s Chris Haynes, Wall will hold a private workout Sunday in Las Vegas for NBA teams that would likely be interested in his services for the 2023-24 campaign.
Wall spent the 2022-23 season with the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 11.4 points, 5.2 assists, and 2.7 rebounds over 34 games.
The 32-year-old hasn’t played much lately, missing the past four seasons. Following a trade from the Washington Wizards to the Houston Rockets, Wall missed the entire 2019-20 season due to injury before missing the 2021-22 campaign two seasons later, opting to sit out the Rockets’ youth play plan.
Since 2019, Wall has played just 74 games, posting 16.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 3.0 rebounds while splitting time with the Rockets and Clippers.
The No. 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft from Kentucky, Wall began his solo career in 2013-14, earning his first of five consecutive All-Star nods while with the Wizards. But injuries and real-life issues have slowed Wall down over the past few years.
After the death of his mother and grandmother in 2019, Wall tore his Achilles. Wall admitted to contemplating suicide during what he called “the darkest place“He was in his life.
But, Wall sought help from a psychotherapist and eventually got his career back on track. Now, Wall is looking forward to continuing his career in the NBA for the 14th season.
