Garbage-talking Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks took a beating on Twitter as the Lakers blocked his shots and NBA fans gawked at his poor performance.
Dillon Brooks is persona non grata in the crypto.com Arena after comments he made about LeBron James after the second match. It turns out he called the Lakers star “old” and declared he’d only be disrespected if he dropped 40. By fans in Los Angeles.
In Game 3, Brooks was the object of ridicule as he was ejected and James Lakers completely demolished the Grizzlies. In Game 4, the score was much closer but the jeer intended for Brooks was still off the charts.
Every miss, and there were many of those, was a celebration for Lakers fans. NBA Twitter lost it when Brooks’ shot was blocked and then badly blocked a three-point attempt.
NBA Twitter loves to laugh at Dillon Brooks
Brooks had a tough outing in Game 3, going 3-of-13 from the field and 1-of-5 from behind the arc. If he had set his sights on turning things around in Game 4, it wouldn’t quite happen that way. He started an outing of 2-of-7 from the field and 0-of-4 from three-point distance.
It’s safe to say that after the better part of two games since Brooks opened his can of worms, he hasn’t been able to back up any of his trash talk. Instead, he made a fool of himself in the NBA playoffs.
