the Kings and star center Domantas Sabonis He reportedly reached an agreement on renegotiating and extending the lucrative contract, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Sabonis’ new deal runs for five years, and he’s set to earn $217 million over the course of the contract. Of that amount, $195 million is said to be new money.
The 27-year-old was due to enter the final year of his contract in 2023-24 and was set to earn $19.4 million. He was previously subject to a four-year, $74 million deal in Sacramento, which he originally signed with the Pacers in 2020.
Sabonis will be under contract with the Kings through the 2027-28 season, and will command an average annual value of $43.4 million with his big money extension.

Sabonis was obtained by the Kings from Pacers As part of a huge trade that includes Tyrese Haliburton during the 2021-22 season. He has since become a key factor in Sacramento’s success, helping the team weather a prolonged drought last season.
Across 79 games in 2022-23, Sabonis averaged 19.1 points, a league-high 12.3 rebounds, and a career-best 7.3 assists per game en route to his third All-Star Game appearance.
