There was an odd moment during Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night when MMA fighter Conor McGregor was brought in to promote the pain-relieving spray that had him punching Bernie, the Heat’s mascot.
After McGregor threw his first punch as part of the skit, he delivered another one to Burney on the floor and then sprayed him with pain relief spray while Bernie was dragged away.
The only problem is that McGregor’s initial punch hit the person inside Burnie’s uniform, and according to Sam Amick of The Athletic led to their hospitalization.
The good news is that the person inside the costume was given a pain reliever (not MacGregor pain relief spray, for the record) and sent home because he was fine.
Here is a look at the sitcom.
