The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) wasn’t going well with Luke Rockhold’s debut.
Former UFC Middleweight Champion Rockhold was stopped in the second round of his highly anticipated fight with Mike Perry last night (Saturday, April 29, 2023) from inside the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, CO, at BKFC 41 (highlights to watch!).
Rockhold’s TKO stop had most of the fighting community scratching their heads as it looked like Rockhold had just resigned himself to the damage; However, after the fight, BKFC founder and president David Feldman revealed that the former UFC champ had “broken and rotted” his teeth.
“Luke Rockhold had some teeth broken, and that’s why he wasn’t able to continue,” Feldman told reporters during BKFC 41’s post-fight press conference. “His teeth definitely rotted well, ah, what a great start to that fight, right? Great fight.”
Shortly after the press conference, a picture of Rockhold’s mouth emerged after the fight, and indeed, his teeth were in poor condition.

Rockhold, 38, has now lost four straight bouts in two combat sports, while Mike Perry is absolutely thriving at BKFC, winning his first four fights.
