The Predators will be looking for some free agents in the short term

Predators General Manager Barry Trotz was looking to let go of some of his long-term contracts and would look for short-term deals in free agency while they were “reset”.
“For the most part, we’re looking for the cultural chops. We’re looking for more people in the short term who can help us win, but at the same time, leave enough room for when our guys are ready,” said Trotz. “I don’t want to be tied down to long-term contracts for the number of young players we have. I’ve been very transparent with agents and players about that.”
