Neil Magney is open to fighting Ian Machado Gary after the Irishman’s latest call-up.
After defeating Daniel Rodriguez by first-round TKO last month, Gary decided to call out Magny. However, ‘The Haitian Sensation’ was already booked to fight against Phil Rowe at UFC Jacksonville this past Saturday, a contest he eventually won by decision.
With Ian Garry now booked to face Geoff Neal at UFC 292, Magny is interested in answering the Irishman’s call should he win.
“I’m going to draw a blank on his name, but I think there’s a little Irish kid calling me, Ayan whatever his last name is. I know it was a real chippy or whatever, but he sure asked the wrong Neil. If I get a chance to fight that fight sometime this year I’m definitely playing it, Magny He said after winning UFC Jacksonville.

Although Ian Machado Gary is booked against Jeff Neil, Neil Magney says he’s torn about who he wants to win that fight. He knows that if Gary wins, he can have this match, so he’s selfishly in favor of it. But, on the other hand, Magney says he really loves Neil, so he’s also out to win and derail the Irishman’s ruckus.
But in the end, if it was Gary who outlasted Neil at UFC 292 on August 19, Magney is very interested in this fight because he believes he has a technique to beat the Irishman and derail his hype.
With his victory over Phil Roe at UFC Jacksonville on Saturday, Neil Magney improved to 28-10 and is back on the win pole after losing to Gilbert Burns in January. Magny is 21-9 in the UFC but only 4-5 in his last nine, but in his career he has notable wins over Robbie Lawler, Carlos Condit, Jeff Neal, and Johnny Hendrix among others.
