Ernie Johnson was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame. Who better to break the news than another Hall of Famer?
During a TNT broadcast of “The Match,” Charles Barkley surprised the host of “Inside the NBA.” Six-time Sports Emmy winner Barclay Johnson has told that he has been elected to the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
Johnson seemed really shocked and moved by the news.
“Chaxter, what are you talking about?” Johnson asked Barclay. “This is amazing. Thank you so much. I am so humbled beyond words. Thank you so much. It means the world to me.”
Barkley is not just an NBA Hall of Famer. He was elected to the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2021, following in the footsteps of other TNT Hall of Famers. That list includes the late longtime TNT correspondent Craig Sager, as well as retired anchor Marv Alpert.
It has not yet included longtime “Insider” analyst Kenny Smith. That’s right, just like many races on the big plate, Smith lost the race to the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
For the fourth member of the committee, Shaquille O’Neal no longer had to dodge the process servers, so he was free to take on Chuckster in a mode challenge.
Barkley may be a Basketball Hall of Famer and a broadcaster, but the Golf Hall of Fame will not be in his future.
