We are currently in the middle of the first round of the NBA Playoffs, and the most entertaining series yet may be the matchup between the No. 2 seed Memphis Grizzlies and the No. 7 seed Los Angeles Lakers. The two teams have developed a rivalry over the past couple of seasons, and we only see more fuel added to the fire now. After the Grizz won Game 2, pro instigator Dillon Brooks said this about Lakers star LeBron James: “He’s old. I cheat the Bears. I don’t respect anybody until they give me a 40.” The current Memphis squad certainly doesn’t lack confidence, but as the saying goes, “If you come to the King, you better not miss it.” The series moves to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Saturday night.
Which brings us to today’s contest. The NBA began awarding Defensive Player of the Year after the 1982-83 season. Since then, the award has been awarded 41 times, including to Memphis’ Jaryn Jackson Jr., who took home the award this season and will need to be a factor if the Grizz are expecting to come out west. With that in mind, how many of the 41 can you name in five minutes?
good luck!
