Rankings take into account a fighter’s wins/losses, quality of competition, finish rate/dominance, and frequency of fights.
Fighters are no longer eligible for the rank after being inactive for 24 months, either due to injuries, drug/behavior suspensions, contract disputes or self-imposed layoffs.
Drug/behavior cessation fighters are eligible for the ranking, as long as they have been inactive for more than 24 months.
To the best of our ability, fighters will be seeded into a base weight class. Fights and catch weight fights outside of a fighter’s base weight class can have a positive or negative impact on the rankings. However, non-title holders can only be ranked in one weight class at a given time, and in most cases, they will not be ranked in a new weight class until they have had their first fight at that weight.
