Bobby Marks: Here are the choices Bruce Brown Jr. faces. In free agency leadership: 1. He can return to Denver with a contract starting at $7.8 million (2 year player option). This would be similar to what Bobby Portis did in Milwaukee. That’s the maximum he can sign with Denver because he has non-Bird rights and Denver is a taxing team. That would allow him to establish the rights to the early birds in 2024 and sign North to a $12 million contract. 2. He can sign with a team that has a max surface area or a non-tax median level of $12.2 million. Brown has made a total of $15.1 million in his career. If he leaves in free agency, the only recourse to replace him is the minimum veteran. Denver is unlikely to have the average level of $5 million in taxes. -via Twitter @BobbyMarks42 / June 21, 2023
