The Boston Celtics have struggled with inconsistency all season.
Those problems have followed them throughout the qualifying stages, and they seem to be their biggest enemy at this point in the season.
After their loss to the Miami Heat, even Celtics star Marcus Smart admitted that the players were to blame for their problems, stating that they just couldn’t get bored doing all the little things.

Clever claims that players sometimes outperform each other, and he knows that it’s these little things that really help a team win.
This isn’t the first time Smart has hinted at some coaching issues for this team.
Just last month, he spoke of their offense having a lot of “randomness,” and while he’s always backed up Joe Mazzola, those things speak volumes about his inexperience leading a team of this caliber.
Critics and fans put Mazzulla into a tailspin for sticking to his own pace and letting his team play themselves out of the tough spots.
The Celtics have it all in their favor and one could argue that this could be a losing episode for them, yet they just can’t seem to put two good games together.
That can get the job done against another inconsistent team like the Atlanta Hawks or an often short team like the Philadelphia 76ers.
But they may be playing with fire now.
The Heat is now torn apart, and not doing the little things can send them home empty-handed again.
