Luke Rockhold’s face got all the damage from BKFC 41’s brutal first-time loss to Mike Perry on Saturday.
Rockhold, former UFC and Strikeforce champion, suffered a second-round TKO loss from Perry at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The fight was stopped when he ate a hard shot, then removed his mouth piece, which convinced the referee he did.
BKFC president David Feldman revealed Rockhold’s “broken tooth” in the post-match press conference, and Rockhold verified this on Sunday when he posted a video statement to Instagram All traces appear on his face.
“Okay,” Rockhold said in the video. “What can I say? You can check the bareknuckle off the list. Some crazy sh*t. I got those little knuckles, square on the second front (teeth). Maybe a beard. Probably a better mouthpiece. It was a good fight. It’s a shame it’s over.” This way. Motherf*cker Mike, you tough bastard. Congratulations. I’m not done yet. Some gloves would be nice, though.”
Rockhold never spoke more about what the future held for him. The 38-year-old broke up with the UFC in 2022 after asking for his release, then joined BKFC and lost his debut to Perry.
