NBA rumours: Steve Curry gives a speech – and performance – for Warriors Kings 7 pre-game
Pitchers shoot, talkers talk, and in Game 7 against the Sacramento Kings, Steve Curry did both.
Naturally, Curry did most of the talking on the field with his Burger 50 to send the Golden State Warriors to the second round of the playoffs. But he also used his words to get his team excited the day before the game, giving what his teammates described as “the greatest speech of his career”.
On Saturday, Curry stood in front of the team at Warriors Stadium with something to say. His team was all ears.
According to sources from the athleteCurry assures the Warriors that he can teleport them, but only if the rest of the team joins in.
Anyone who wanted to remain in his emotions, he told them to stay home. Anyone who was up for their vacation told them not to take the bus to Sacramento. But whoever got on the bus, Carey took that as a signature of consent, a binding agreement to be on board for the mission. And if they did, if they got on the bus, he promised it would get done.
After the Game 7 win, his teammates reflected on Curry’s greatness on the court and in that room at the Chase Center, when Curry got the soap box and put the Warriors on another path to the NBA championship.
Andrew Wiggins said of the speech, “It gave me goosebumps. Number 30, it’s different, man.”
Gary Payton said, “He’s that guy who, when he talks, everybody better listens. Because 30 is usually quiet and lets his game speak for itself.”
Curry’s dagger trios are usually mic drops in themselves, but this time, he dropped the mic in more ways than one.
