Golden State drafted Barnes out of UNC with the #7 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. He played with the team until 16.
He had a great opportunity to get some sweet revenge on his former team on Sunday, getting a good look at the basket but eventually narrowly missed a three-point shot, much to Thompson’s relief.
“Sometimes you need a break like that at this point in the year. It was just a gutsy win and a great defensive stand.”
Barnes struggled with his shooting all night, converting only three of his 13 field goal attempts. He was one for six from three-point range, including an error on the final, game-clinching shot.
