Joe Dumars explained the NBA’s decision to suspend Draymond Green for Game 3 of the first round between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings. Green stepped on Domantas Sabonis’ bone after Sabonis grabbed Green’s leg while trying to run to the ground.
Dumar told ESPN, “That’s what it says: Excessive and excessive actions, harmful behavior and a repeat offender. That’s what separates this where you end up suspended.”
Dumar said he tried to ignore the fact that the Kings are up 2-0 in the series.
“You know what the situation is, but you have to put that aside and look at the facts in front of you… A repeat offender is as heavy as anything.”
Prior to joining the league’s bureau, Dumar was an advisor to the Kings.
