Eddie Hearn says he would love to work with Francis Ngannou and arrange some boxing matches but he doesn’t think his skills will translate very well against the heavyweight boxing elite.
Famous boxing promoter Hearn has been around forever in the sport and has nurtured Anthony Joshua’s career as a promoter since 2013 when famous British boxer Joshua made his first transition from Olympic boxing.
Hearn believes he can do exciting things with Ngannou in sports, and a match between ‘The Predator’ and ‘AJ’ could be exciting and give Ngannou the massive boxing fight he so badly wanted.
Ngannou has made waves as the biggest MMA free agent in history. He refused to re-sign with the UFC, lost his heavyweight title, and has been looking for bigger and better opportunities ever since. He had his eyes set on the PFL or ONE FC when it came to MMA, but before he signed, Francis Nganuu still desperately wanted to compete in boxing against the sport’s current greats.
Eddie Hearn doubts Francis Ngannou’s skills will translate well to boxing
“Personally, you couldn’t in a million years, with Francis Ngannou’s boxing ability and boxing pedigree, go in and compete so technically and skillfully – not just with AJ, but with any of the top 20 heavyweights in the world,” Hearn began. He speaks on the MMA Hour. But in that division, the difference is, what you can do is hit somebody. So it doesn’t matter if Francis fights Anthony Joshua – Tyson FuryI agree with you, horrible fight for Francis Ngannou because he just poked [Ngannou] Around – Deontay Wilder, Dillian White, Derek Chisora, Jermaine Franklin; He has no chance against these guys, other than to be aggressive, barter, and pick someone clean and take him out.”
“So I think you are right in your statement, that… people would give fighters a much better chance against AJ after he watched this performance. In your world, that translates to Francis Nganu,” Hearn continued (H/T MMA fighting). And why not? I don’t feel like it’s a fight Anthony Joshua will continue to develop under his new coach, but I will [recently] Lunch with Francis Nganu. You know his story. This man’s story completely amazed me. We sat for two hours, and I was just listening to the coolest thing about it — I mean, how come this isn’t a movie, I have no idea. unbelievable.”
Eddie Hearn is eager to make money on Francis Ngannou
It’s clear that Eddie Hearn would love to make millions from Ngannou, and the boxing promoter even started talking about turning his story into some Hollywood blockbusters.
“I’m thinking, ‘Please let me go to Hollywood right now with you and sell this movie.'” “People need to be educated about what that man went through and his story to get to where he got to. I found him to be amazing. A beautiful man, a beautiful man, and I would love to do something.”
In Hearn’s defense, The Predator has one of the most underrated stories in MMA. Commenting on it in this article wouldn’t be nearly as fair, so don’t be afraid to do some research and read on. Let’s just say that Francis Nganoo is an incredible human being. The things he went through to get to where he is today will stand the test of time. A movie should be made about his life, but that may not do justice to the story. It would also take a short string around it of hour-long episodes to even get close to telling it fairly. It wouldn’t be surprising, a decade from now, that he’s considered a beloved legend in combat sports Mike Tyson.
In terms of boxing, Eddie Hearn is eager to get Ngannou involved with anyone and everyone. Dillian White. Otto Wallen. Joe Joyce is another great fight. “It’s a tough fight, but who knows,” Hearn said. “But I just feel like if we’re going to go to Fury or Wilder, which is inevitable, I just want him to go with the best chance he can get. And I feel like, right now, he’s not at the optimal level that he could be at to fight that fight.” .
“He (Anthony Joshua) is going to keep fighting it, and I still give him a chance in those fights. I think he can win those fights. But I would just like to see him shoot and fight those fights. And what I saw (against Franklin) wasn’t him firing on all cylinders.” “.
Who would you like to see Francis Ngannou’s chest if that happened, or would you rather just re-sign with the UFC?
