The Los Angeles Lakers go into the 2023 NBA season with a lot of questions to answer.
They assumed LeBron James would be a part of next season, but after King hinted at a possible retirement, alarms went off within the Lakers organization.
Besides the possibility of retiring, James could leave the team and try his luck in a different place.
Earlier this week, reports claimed that Kyrie Irving contacted James to try to lure him away from Los Angeles.
This situation has raised bets all over the league, but according to Gilbert Arenas, you don’t have to worry about it.
The former player is confident that James will not leave the Lakers to play for the Mavericks.
“He’s a Laker. His son goes to USC, and his other son decided to go to Campbell Hall, so he has no plans to leave LA, especially without the Dallas Mavericks.” Arenas said.
Ever since Kyrie Irving became disaffected in Brooklyn last year, the Lakers have been considered as a possible landing spot.
LeBron James has expressed his desire to reunite with Irving, with whom he won the 2016 NBA Championship.
Now, things have turned around and it is Irving who is trying to recruit James.
As reported by Arenas, it looks like Irving is trying to create something where there is none.
James will likely not leave LA unless his son Bronie James is drafted by a different team next year.
Irving’s future is still up in the air, with the Mavericks, Lakers, and even the Phoenix Suns mentioned among his potential destinations.
