The 2008 Boston Celtics remain an iconic team in franchise history.
To this day, they are the last team to win a championship for the legendary franchise despite playing in the Finals in 2010 and 2022 respectively.
The 2008 team was led by the Big Three of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen. They went to the Finals, beating the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.
After that series, Garnett told fans and the rest of the NBA world that anything is possible.
“Anything is possible!” 🗣️
It’s been 15 years since the Celtics won their 17th NBA Championship and Kevin Garnett gave us this quote all along 🏆 pic.twitter.com/mQpqdHnzTj

Fans remember this series-winning game today on the 15th anniversary of that duel, as well as that famous phrase from Garnett.
I’m not going to be selfish here, but if you’re a Celtics fan # Banner 18

Garnett, a former MVP and DPOY, won his first NBA championship that season after many years of trying with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
He averaged 18.2 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in six games, including 26 points in Game 6 to give his team the title.
Many thought the 2008 title was the first of many names to come to the Celtics team.
However, it was an uphill battle after that trying to get their magic back.
Kevin Garnett suffered a season-ending injury the following season after starting the season strong at 44-12.
The team also lost to the Orlando Magic in the second round of the playoffs in seven games later that season.
From there, the team eventually began losing key players from that championship squad.
