There was a close race for the NBA’s Best Man of the Season award between Boston Celtics’ Malcolm Brogdon and New York Knicks guard Emmanuel Kwikley.
On Thursday, Brogdon was declared the winner, and the close race that had been expected did not materialize, as he won a majority of the first-place vote for the award.

Brogdon was named Sixth Man of the Year by averaging 14.9 points a game on 48.4 percent of total shooting and 44.4 percent from 3-point range and helping the Celtics to a 57-25 record, second-best in the league.
But many fans on Twitter felt he didn’t deserve it.

The New York reserves averaged 14.9 points per game in the regular season, but his shooting accuracy (44.8 percent overall and 37.0 percent center) wasn’t quite as efficient as Brogdon’s.
These two fans had someone else in mind: Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Bobby’s trash has been stolen!

Portis had a stellar season himself, posting 14.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while shooting 49.6 percent of his shots and shooting 37.0 percent from outside the arc.
He’s been a key backup for the Bucks for the past three seasons, helping them win the NBA Championship in 2021.
But Brogdon made a huge impact on a Boston team that had a very weak bench last season when it lost the World Title to the Golden State Warriors in six games.
The Celtics still only rank 20th in scoring off the bench during the regular season, but now they’re not in a tough spot anymore when they move to their second unit or when Jason Tatum is off the bench.
