The Minnesota Timberwolves had a fairly talented and promising young team this season, but for the second year in a row, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
A report via Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus on Friday indicated that the Timberwolves may be making a bold move by trading star center Karl-Anthony Towns in the next few weeks.

Fans are intrigued and elated, to say the least.
This fan seems to question the logic of keeping Towns at the expense of Minnesota big man Rudy Gobert.
Kat on Joubert? Interesting 🤔 Something’s brewing… KAT for Portland?

Townes has a lot in him. With the right coach and the right circumstances, it will do just fine for him.

The Timberwolves traded a lot for Gobert last summer, and he eliminated four serviceable supplement players and five future first-round draft picks.
Although Gobert is a very good player and shot blocker, he is a very good fit with Towns offensively, and many feel it was a very unwise trade for Minnesota, especially considering what they gave up.
Towns is a fairly productive big guy averaging 20.8 points on 49.5% shooting, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a game this season, but there is a sense that maybe he’s not a winning player.
Trading it could mean giving another team the missing piece to the championship puzzle.
On the one hand, it could allow Minnesota to regain some of the depth and trading capital it gave up to acquire Gobert, which could help them improve in the long run.
