Nick Bosa, Miles Garrett, Micah Parsons, NFL EDGE Major Rankings by Coaches, Execs – Timothy Rapp, Bleacher Report
It was great to see Micah Parsons become a consensus nominee for Defensive Player of the Year.
like Jeremy Fowler Of ESPN noted, the company “polled executives, coaches, scouts, and players” for the top 10 players for the position. ESPN then compiled the results and ranked the players “based on the number of Top 10 votes, composite average, along with dozens of interviews, research assistance and film study from ESPN NFL analyst Matt Bowen.”
Bosa led the runners on edge, which isn’t a shock after he led the NFL with 18.5 sacks last season, his second straight season with 15 or more sacks.
“The size, the power, the power, the quickness, the agility, the solid length, a repertoire of high moves and drives,” said senior NFL official Fowler. “He’s got it all.”
Cleveland Browns Defensive end Miles Garrett was second, followed by Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons at third.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he was No. 1 by next year,” an NFL coordinator told Fowler regarding Parsons. His talent is undeniable.
Third-year players desperate to keep their rosters – Jermaine Arvey, Inside The Star
With so much variety on the defensive line, there will be few odd men when the final cut comes around.
Dallas has promoted center Quinton Bohana twice
Quinton Bohana is a head-scratcher in every sense of the word.
Call me crazy, but at the beginning 2022 seasonthe nose tackle It was his job to lose.
After his rookie campaign, Pro Focus on football He stamped it with a score of 29.6 out of 100 for Defense run.
This with a total gain of 222 shots.
While I don’t expect miracles from the sixth round, I don’t think so bags from Nose treatment It’s going to be mainstream, ten solo attempts in 2 horrible years.
Dallas has not used a single draft assist on the inside line. They invested two.
The midseason trade of Jonathan Hankins cost the team a sixth round pick from the previous draft.
Not to mention, Dallas drafted Mazie in first round.
11) What impact will Mazie Smith have in 2023? – Work crew, DallasCowboys.com
Other factors will determine whether the Cowboys defense really improves this season, but they expect a big impact from first-round pick Mazie Smith in the DT.
Spanish Mickey: Not being too cute here, just being “huge”. Just having him on the field to start, taking up space would be a plus. So, for starters, this wide-body, not crunchy wide, but really strong, will help with the mid-line press against the run. He should have seen what it looked like during off-season training when Mazie and Jonathan Hankins lined up together at defensive tackle. That’s a wide load. Plus, DC Dan Quinn when he’s lined up right, and not just to stop a run, thinks Mazi has some natural resilience to present a threat rushing into the quarterback. I can’t wait to see him in the pads.
Nick Harris: More often than not, first-round picks make great first-year contributions and I don’t expect Mazie Smith to be an exception to this trend. The running game would be the most immediate impact for Smith as it would be his first chance to solidify himself as a starter in Week 1. The defense staff is also optimistic about his rushing ability, and if they can unlock that from him early in the season, not only will the Cowboys have unlocked huge impact in defensive areas, but they will also have arguably unlocked the most complete set of defensive lines in the league.
Kyle Yeomans: Last season, Osa Odigizwa was the only inside linebacker to handle more than 700 defensive tackles. The second closest to that total was Neville Gallimore who had the 120th-ranked 127th-ranked defensive tackle in Pro Football Focus. So, it shouldn’t take long for Mazie Smith to make a huge impact based solely on his potential use this season. Early projections are that he will act as a running back on a nose tackle with a potential rushing element. That alone is more potential than Dallas has had in a single tech in years. I fully expect this to be a killer front with the addition of Smith in the fold.
The Case of Tony Pollard of the Dallas Cowboys as the 2nd Best Fantasy Football Player in 2023 – Dalton Dale Donne, Yahoo Sports
Are you willing to commit Tony Pollard that high in your fantasy draft, or let someone else spend their top pick on a player out of injury?
case for Tony Pollard Like an RB2 for imagination
Christian McCaffrey He deserves 1st place among Fantasy RBs Given its use in Kyle Shanahan‘s a crime (even with Elijah Mitchell Factor). But there’s a great class after CMC that consists of nine contestants all with similar arguments (and questions) for being ranked next. Tony Pollard He is the #2 running back (his expert consensus rank is RB9), assuming Ezekiel Elliott Not going back to Dallas. Pollard averaged 19.3 PPR points when given in 10 campaigns Last season, which could have been good for the RB3 fantasy.
He finished as RB8 despite being seen Fewer than 50% of shots in eight games He totaled a modest 232 touches – the Dallas running back combined for 524And Elliott went. Pollard won’t become a real factor in getting 325+ touches, but he is middle 102.3 yards from scrimmage and 0.91 touchdowns during the games Blitz averaged over 50% throughout his career; Now, it’s clear that he’s been groomed for most of the opportunities in his career.
