Brandin Cooks’ influence on the Cowboys’ WR corps is beyond speed – Todd Archer, ESPN
Brandin Cooks sure has great ability to play, but that’s not all he brings to Dallas.
with Sir Lamb And Michael Gallup In addition to Cooks, the Cowboys believe they have a triple receiver who can attack all parts of the field from different parts of the formation. Even if defenses gave Cox a free release away from the line of scrimmage, McCarthy said, he would still be an advanced option for the starting quarterback.
“Not only is he fast, but I think he’s an exceptional road runner,” said McCarthy. “He has a great understanding of routes, time hours, and the details of entering and exiting breaks.”
Chefs influence exceeds his speed. Lamb and Gallup said they earned little tricks of the trade that the chefs have perfected while totaling six 1,000-yard seasons with four different franchises.
“I’m a visual learner and I just watch him go his way, the way he prepares, the way he exercises, how he goes about his work. I love every bit of it,” Lamb said. “I mean, he’s a pro to a T.” My coach told me that bringing him in would be the best thing for me and he is.”
USFL Players The Dallas Cowboys Should Consider Bringing To Training Camp – Tony Catalina, Blogging For The Boys
The Cowboys really took gold once they dropped out of the USFL pool. Can they do it again?
K, Luis Aguilar, Philadelphia Stars
Luis Aguilar of the Philadelphia Stars was the league’s leading scorer this season and was rewarded for this by being named to the “All-USFL” team. Aguilar led the entire league in points with 94 and finished the season 25/29 in field goal attempts and 19/20 in PATs. In addition, Aguilar went 11/15 on kicks over 40 yards with two of those four errors coming from over 50 yards. Aguilar was also tasked with kicking at times as he had 19 balls in limited action and dropped five of those inside the 20-yard line.
G, Paul Adams, New Orleans Breakers
Adams has had some flexibility while playing in college, and while the Cowboys appreciate that ability, questions about this offensive line lie within and this may be where his biggest opportunity lies. Guys like Josh Ball and Matt Waletzko look at guard and it seems like a holistic approach on deck to see what everyone is capable of. The Cowboys’ top five offensive linemen are clear, the rest are still being sorted, and adding Paul Adams to the mix could help clear things up at Oxnard.

Mailbag: Can Ronald Jones star in Dallas? – DallasCowboys.com
The Cowboys are looking to backup Tony Pollard with several candidates on the roster.
I know Tony Pollard is RB1 once he hits 100 percent, but I worry more about RB2, who might end up being the starter until Pollard returns or if he gets hurt again. I haven’t heard much about Ronald Jones. How did it look so far? Show promise in Tampa Bay. Any chance of him becoming a star here in Dallas running behind a solid offensive line? _– Nick McGraw/Manassas, Virginia
Nick Eatman: You never say anything. We’ve seen veterans of the past who looked like their best days were behind them and found a way to shine. But is this what I expect to see from Ronald Jones this year? I can’t say I do. More than anything, though, was the fact that he didn’t have big roles in both of his last two stops in Kansas City and Tampa Bay. Then again, he can always flash two shiny rings on all of us. He wasn’t the main reason his teams won the Super Bowl, but he was there. Who knows, maybe that’s what he’ll bring to the cowboys. I think it will be serviceable but something tells me that owner Davis may be a better option to support Pollard.
mockery: I’m going to answer that question the way I answered Wednesday’s question about the best return filter for Duck Protection. Re-sign Zeke if he is still available during camp and if he plays for a modest base salary and incentives. Now it certainly looks as if Pollard will be ready to start training camp on time, and even if he misses a few weeks, it won’t be much of a problem. But my choice would be Malik Davis. He showed a lot last year on the few shots he played. As for Ronald Jones, he sure didn’t do much or get a big chance last year in Kansas City and the Chiefs were just below Clyde Edwards-Hellier. I think Jones will be more of a situational player.
