Chris Paul He spoke to reporters Sunday during an introductory press conference following his trade to the Warriors.
Among the topics brought up during his press conference was Paul’s role with the team. When a reporter seemed to assume the veteran base would come off the bench at Golden State, Paul noted that head coach Steve Kerr has yet to discuss the possibility.
“You train?” Paul asked the reporter. “Well, I don’t know what it will be like yet. I guess we’ll have to find out once we get started.”
“It will be a conversation for us when camp starts,” Paul said when asked if he would like to come off the bench for the first time in his career.
There was no discussion between Chris Paul and Steve Kerr about Paul coming off the bench. It’s going to be a conversation when camp starts. Steve and I have talked, but it’s not something where it’s like, ‘What’s up, man? You start or get off the bench.” pic.twitter.com/JYSO9hcHqE

With Stephen Curry almost certain at the starting point guard position for the Warriors, Paul’s acquisition had many under the impression that the 38-year-old would roll with Golden State’s young second unit. However, Paul indicated that he was not informed of such a decision from the organization. The Warriors have been one of the teams at the forefront of the positionless basketball movement, and they both can start very well in the undersized backcourt.
Throughout his 18-year NBA career, Paul has started all 1,214 regular season games he has appeared in, including 59 last year with the Sun.
In addition to his press conference Paul It reportedly worked out with Curry at the team’s facility in Las Vegas before appearing on the court with his new teammate at the Warriors Summer League game.
