Top priority: trade big time on a wide scale
A lot of breath was wasted at the end of last season due to Chiefs attack suddenly missing Tyreek Hill. Andy Reid turns panic into production and will do it again no matter who lines up at wide receiver. I felt like Kadarius Toney was just beginning to emerge into an amazing character power. Marquis Valdez-Scantling, Sky Moore, Richie James and rookie Rachy Rice will help fill the void left by Joe Smith-Schuster. Justyn Ross is an influential 6-foot-4 as well, but Kansas City is in a unique place. Player development is king, but trading for a plug-and-play superstar — maybe Mike Evans from Tampa or the DeAndre Hopkins this column mentioned so often — would keep the Mahomes Machine ahead of the Bengals and Bills.
Top 10 NFL offenses in 2023? Bills, Chiefs, Eagles Offer Highest Winning Expectations | NFL.com
1 – Kansas City Chiefs
Expected profit share: 8.7
Last season, with Tyreek Hill, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling out, the Chiefs relied more on the short passing game than they had in the past – and Patrick Mahomes proved he could adapt to any style of play, recording 31 touchdown passes On throws of 10 yard or less, 12 more than anyone else in the NFL (by Next Generation Stats). Meanwhile, Kansas City ranked first in the NFL in scoring and yards per game. I look forward to seeing the new plays, alignment and wrinkle that Andy Reid folds into offense this In the year, with Smith-Schuster and Mikul Hardman departing, leaving way for Tony Cadarios, Ski Moore and rookie Rashi Rice to take on perennial passing announcer Travis Kelsey.
Another factor working for Kansas City: veteran extras deals with Joan Taylor and Donovan Smith. My models have shown that improved offensive line play is not only associated with but also causative for the annual large increases in first down and first down odds. Despite the loss of Orlando Brown, Taylor and Smith are on the line in projects to keep the Chiefs offense going, even if that success is achieved in different ways again.
These are probably the top three offenses in the league, and they end up incredibly high in our final standings. What sets the Chiefs apart is that the combination of Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and the offensive line is unparalleled in the league. They have the best quarterback in the NFL, arguably the best touchdown linebacker, and one of the best combos up front. We saw last season that they can run receivers in and out, and as long as Travis Kelsey is around, they can move the ball up in the air really well. The thing that holds the Eagles ahead of the Bengals right now is we have a little bit more confidence in Nick Sirianni and Brian Johnson than Zac Taylor and Brian Callahan. Both have shown they can draft high offense, but the Eagles (even after Steichen’s loss to Indianapolis) have shown more variety and have a better handle on creating small leads wherever available.

Can Patrick Mahomes do it again with these wide receivers?
Uh…would you bet on it? The whole question this time last year was whether Mahomes could excel without Tyreek Hill and with a cast of outcasts that included JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. All Mahomes did was lead the Chiefs to the best record in the league while winning MVP honors and their second Super Bowl title. So this year, with Smith-Schuster gone and Richie James the only real agent signed to replace him, why should we doubt Mahomes?
Add a full year with Kadarius Toney, who came in at the trade deadline last year and was one of the key players in that Super Bowl win, his second season with 2022 second-place finisher Skyy Moore and 2023 Rashee Rice and maybe even former Clemson star Justin Ross, who He had signed with a free agent last year, and yes, Mahomes should be fine. By the way, Travis Kelsey never retired.

Kansas City Chiefs (14-3) – Division winner
Denver Broncos (9-8) * – Team Wild Card
Los Angeles Chargers (8-9)
Las Vegas Raiders (7-10)
People questioned the Chiefs last year, and things worked out badly for those Jabbers. The Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champions and even though they’ve dealt with some attrition, they still have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reed, which puts them in pole position to dominate that rating once again. Anything under 200 should be considered a good bet on how bosses work. The Broncos and Chargers are a little intimidating – as long as Denver is flying under the radar this season, I’ll be above them. Sean Payton is a huge, massive upgrade over Nathaniel Hackett. It really cannot be overstated enough. Someone got mad at me for putting the Raiders in fourth place here… They’ve been second three times since 2003 and haven’t won a division since 2002, so maybe he’s settled on my claim that the Raiders are going to be great this season.

EC Project: The existence of a succession plan in the offensive coordinator
Total marks: B
If we’ve learned one thing about the Chiefs over the past few years, it’s that Kansas City will remain competitive as long as head coach Andy Reed and quarterback Patrick Mahomes are in charge.
The Chiefs have done a tremendous job replacing and adapting to player departures, and that will likely be done again in 2023.
Kansas City lost key contributors such as left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., safety Juan Thornhill, Jojo Smith-Schuster, right tackle Andre Wiley, and Frank Clark. To replace them, the Chiefs brought in veterans such as Joan Taylor, Charles Omeniho, Richie James, Mike Edwards, and Drew Tranquill before going for the draft.

Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes
Philadelphia Eagles and Galen Hurts
Buffalo bills and Josh Allen
These are the couples you see on Instagram that make you think, “Why can’t I be as happy as they are?” The newest couple in this group are Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, who rose to the upper echelon after their marriage (or, uh, contract extension) last month. Hurts is now under contract through 2028 in a deal worth up to $255 million. When the Eagles drafted Hurts in 2020, General Manager Howie Roseman said they wanted to be a “factory QB” (full fuccboi move). But Hurts and the Eagles’ narrow loss in the Super Bowl convinced them to settle. Life (and questionable defensive penalties) comes to you quickly.

NFL owners prepare for Levi’s Stadium for the OK 49ers as host of Super Bowl 60 | ESPN
Barring a sudden change of direction, that confidence will be rewarded at next week’s spring owners’ meetings in Minneapolis. There, the 49ers’ bid for Super Bowl 60 in 2026 is slated to be approved by the NFL, a league source said, confirming a report by the Sports Business Journal.
“If the Bay Area had the opportunity, we would be honored to host Super Bowl LX,” 49ers President Al Guido said in a statement.
If Bay Area’s bid is accepted, the Super Bowl will be returned to Levi’s Stadium for the first time since the Denver Broncos beat Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 and will be the third Super Bowl to be played in the Bay Area. Niners won over Miami Dolphin In Super Bowl XIX, a game played at Stanford Stadium in 1985.
One of the fun facts Keitel revealed was that he grew up Chicago Bears a fan. This makes sense, as Kettle attended high school at two separate schools in Iowa, one in Iowa City, and she also attended the University of Iowa, which is also located in Iowa City.
It is important to mention the location, as Iowa City is located three and a half hours from Chicago. Since there aren’t any professional teams in Iowa, most locals gravitate towards nearby teams, namely those in Chicago.
Here’s what Kittle said on the Waddle & Silvy show: Being a bear would have been cool. I am very happy with what I got. I’m doing really well for myself here in San Francisco. But bears are always dear to my heart. and the Cubs. I have to go back to Wrigley.”

Presidents Paycheck 2023 Hat: Bringing Patrick Mahomes’ Contract Conversation Back to Reality
All of these esteemed writers may be absolutely right. By week one, Mahomes could once again become the highest paid player in the league.
But I don’t think so. Here’s why:
It’s very soon
Mahomes signed a 10-year contract extension on July 6, 2020 — not earlier than three years later — when he still had two full years left on his rookie contract. This means that he and the bosses are now One year In the 2020 contract for a period of 10 years.
When the contract was signed, everyone knew it would be renegotiated before it expired in 2031. At the time, the 2025 season — when the deal’s dead money drops to zero — was identified as the earliest possible renegotiation date. But right now, the deal contains $134 million in dead money. In any renegotiation, this money must be dealt with against the maximum.
The deal Veach struck with Mahomes’ agents Lee Steinberg and Chris Cabot was unprecedented. It is unlikely that this carefully orchestrated convention could be torn apart on a whim.
