NBA Twitter reacts to Boston Celtics’ impressive Game 4 victory over the Miami Heat to avoid disqualification.
The Boston Celtics went into Game 4 on Tuesday night in Miami with a score of 0-3. No team has ever overcome such a deficit in NBA history, and talk of Boston’s mental weakness was prevalent in the national media.
After the Celtics seemed to lie down and die in Game 3 with a 128-102 loss, Boston deserves credit for the response. It may be too little, too late, but the series now moves to Bean Town for Game 5. No team has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit, but that’s how it would theoretically start – one win at a time.
NBA Twitter had a field day as usual, reacting to Boston’s resilience and Miami’s inability to advance to Jimmy Butler’s second NBA Finals.
The best memes and tweets from Celtics 4 beat the Miami Heat
History still favors Miami in this series…but the Celtics are the second seed, Eastern Conference champions, and arguably the most talented team in the NBA. The Heat are the eight seeds. If there is time to look at Possibility From a score of 0-3, that might be the case.
On the other hand, The Heat is still using Jimmy Butler. He scored 29 points in the loss, but shot only 42.9 percent from the field. The Miami players dominated all series, but Gabe Vincent turned his ankle in the fourth quarter and Kyle Lowry appeared to aggravate his right knee in the first half. Bumps and bruises build up from the heat.
Butler has better nights to come. He’s regularly embarrassed the Celtics in Games 1-3 and is able to command a close performance. Boston, however, will be on alert the rest of the way. The Celtics played poorly as top firsts this season, but answered the call when Philly went 3-2 in the Conference Semifinals and won twice in a row. Now, once again on the brink of elimination, the Celtics have answered the call.
We can take part in an exciting Game 5 on Thursday.
