May and June may be the most entertaining period in the NBA. The end of the NBA Playoffs and Finals determines the NBA Draft that follows and concludes with free agency discussions.
This has been especially true this year. The NBA Finals saw the eighth-seeded Miami Heat en route to falling to the Denver Nuggets, who claimed their first title in franchise history. The draft saw generational talent Victor Wimpanyama finally enter the league with San Antonio’s first pick. Meanwhile, many bands collectively played chords with reset buttons once the curtains closed for the season. One of the more interesting deals is to acquire future Golden State Warriors Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul from the Washington Wizards.
After playing three seasons in Phoenix – the last of which ended with an injury during the playoffs – the Suns decided to transfer from CP3. They dealt with him in the nation’s capital, and from there, the former Bay Area champions secured his services in exchange for Jordan Paul and multiple assets.
The deal was announced on June 22 – and the basketball world was left in shock. Before we get any further, let’s take a look at Paul’s history with his new team.
