The health and well-being of Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron is currently a huge topic in New England.
In Games One and Two of the Bruins’ Stanley Cup Playoff Series against the Florida Panthers, Bergeron was absent due to illness and an unexplained injury, respectively. The problem is, Bergeron was injured in the Bruins’ final regular season game. Neither the Boston Bruins nor their opponent, the Montreal Canadiens, were in danger in this game in terms of standings.
However, Bergeron is a native of Quebec and takes every opportunity to compete there. Bergeron participated in that 82nd meaningless regular season game despite requests from the team’s support base for him to sit out and prepare for the postseason. As other league organizations rested their stars for the final games, the Bruins had the least to gain and the least to lose by doing the same. They were on track to finish top of the league no matter how the last week of the regular season played.
Despite this, Bergeron continued to play and made clear how essential it was for him and his family to play in front of his loved ones and friends during what may be his final season. Well, fair enough.
Bergeron left the game in the first period with what is believed to be an upper body ailment, and that’s the problem. Well, the captain was injured during a pointless match. Exactly as promised by the backers…
But now that Bergeron has given us the full picture of that “stale” game, it’s sad to say the least.
There are many claims on the internet today that Bergeron’s father Gerard Cleary has cancer and that he will never get another chance to see his son play hockey after that “senseless” game.
Look at it well:
Patrice Bergeron’s father is battling cancer. He wanted to play against his father in Montreal, perhaps, for the last time. He even wanted to go back there after he went into the room. I was told it didn’t matter. I shouldn’t be playing. amazing. I am surprised and at a loss for words

My thanks ESPN writings:
My thoughts and prayers with # I grow Patrice Bergeron’s father who is battling cancer.
I now fully know and understand his decision to want to play in Montreal in front of his family, maybe his father for the last time (we can only hope that wasn’t the case).Shukri’s writings (@ShukriWrights) April 20, 2023
Bergeron has yet to officially confirm his father’s health through the organization, but given the reports, it wouldn’t be long before a team reporter asked him about it. Stay tuned.
