Facebook founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg decided to hit the ring over the weekend.
Obviously, the business mogul is most known for his work with Facebook and Instagram. However, over the past few years, Zuckerberg has become a huge fan of MMA. Mostly, he was welcomed into society, making friends with names like Aleksandr Volkanovsky.
“The Great” even appeared in an ad with the founder of Facebook, as they sparred in the metaverse. Zuckerberg’s fandom even led him to lease the entire UFC Apex for an event last October. Despite this, Dana White later stated that this was not the case, and closed the arena as a gift to him.
However, Mark Zuckerberg has also decided to start working on the mats as well. Although still a white belt, he competed in his first ever Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship over the weekend. The tournament was held at the BJJ Tour Stop near California’s Silicon Valley, and Zuckerberg performed better than expected.
The Meta CEO has reportedly been coached by Dave Camarillo, Khai Wu and James Terry in the lead up to the event. MMA fans’ first name may stand out, as he has helped work with the American Kickboxing Academy for years. Camarillo was the head jiu-jitsu instructor for the team, having worked with names like Josh Kosick and Jon Fitch.
