Less than 24 hours after notching the biggest win of his career on the PGA Tour, Norwegian world number 5 Victor Hovland was caddying Monday for his former college roommate looking to secure a place at next week’s US Open.
Hovland captured his fourth PGA Tour title on Sunday and first on US soil at the Memorial Tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus in Dublin, Ohio, and will now hold Zach Paochow in the 36-hole qualifying match Monday in nearby Columbus.
With Hovland on his bag, Bauchou has been playing at Lakes Golf & Country Club and Brookside Golf & Country Club in an effort to reach the final stage of the US Open Qualifiers.
Paocho and Hovland were teammates on Oklahoma State University’s national championship winning team in 2018.
Hovland, who finished runner-up at the PGA Championship last month, will make his fifth appearance at the US Open next week at Los Angeles Country Club.
