It’s the time of year in the Midwest when you’re ready to swing out of your golf slumber.
After 5 months of winter rust, you might be a little harsh on your first visit to the collection. However, as you relax, you may begin to notice that you are not hitting the ball the way you would like. Before you go to the sporting goods store to pick out the latest and greatest clubs, consider what might really be the problem: your shafts.
If you haven’t thought about upgrading your club poles, now is the time! I recently came across a great company out of Florida called Steadfast Golf that makes high quality, affordable golf shafts that just might be the key to taking your game to the next level.
Rear shaft core
Skipping ball nicks and obvious shafts, and choosing the right golf shaft can be a deciding factor when it comes to your overall performance on the golf course. Here are some of the most important factors to consider when choosing a golf shaft:
- drapeGolf shaft flex: Refers to how much it bends during the swing. In general, the slower the swing speed, the more flexible the shaft you will need. Flexible options usually include extra firm, firm, regular, seniors, and women’s.
- WeightThe weight of the shaft can affect your swing speed and, in turn, your overall performance. Lighter shafts tend to generate faster swing speeds, while heavy shafts may provide more control.
- LengthPole length can also affect your swing as longer poles tend to produce more distance but are more difficult to control.
- kick pointThe kick point indicates where the shaft bends most during the swing. Low kick point poles tend to produce higher ball flights, while high kick point poles produce lower ball flights.
- torque: Torque refers to the amount of torsion that occurs in the shaft during swing. Lower torque can result in a more consistent shot, while higher torque may provide more feel and feedback.
A little about Jupiter aperture
Steadfast Golf has created the Buyer’s Column as a high-quality option for players of all skill levels. Their shafts are engineered for maximum performance and accuracy, and they use the latest technology and materials to create shafts that are lightweight and strong. Jupiter shafts offer a wide variety of pitches to suit different player profiles and are available in compatible tips for all major brands.
The all-new Steadfast JUPITER ONE PLUS drive shaft is designed with torque and balance as its first priority, making it one of the best and most stable drive shafts on the market today.
Balancing the weight of the head to the spindle results in an easy swing across the ball, allowing the club to lead the hands through impact and naturally increase distance and load while getting the right rpm.
When you hit the toe or heel, you will still find your ball in or near the fairway. You’ll still get consistent distance, too, as proven by test results.
Steadfast Golf carbon fiber shafts are an improvement on the typical graphite shaft, increasing durability, performance and overall driver feel.
If you are looking to drive longer and/or straighter, this is the shaft for you!
My experience with Jupiter
Until recently I wasn’t one to mess with my clubs. I have always been a player who has adapted my game to the way I hit the ball. I only now realize how much improvement can be gained by having the “right” equipment and not just the “latest” equipment.
For a long time I struggled with low ball trajectory and high spinning shots. When I went in to get the club installed I would recommend buying a $400+ shaft to fix this problem. I wanted to put these very expensive shafts head to head with Jupiter to really compare performance.
The results of my session are telling, and I’m happy to report that Jupiter performed really well against the other bars I tested.
The dispersion and distance map below shows a comparison of a purple Jupiter X shaft with another brand shaft that costs 4X more. As you can see, my dispersion was similar if not better with Jupiter and my convection distance was greater on average. You’ll also notice in my statements that I felt comfortable increasing my swing speed and maintaining accuracy from the club. This has given me a lot of confidence that I can now translate to the course to take on those long rides and impress my friends!
I was also very happy with the 3-wood Callaway Jupiter Column Upgrade I tested. While I wasn’t able to compare the data on the Trackman, I saw an improvement in dispersion and a slight increase in distance during range testing.
Concluding thoughts
The Jupiter Shaft is a great choice for most golfers who may want to try different flex options or are not happy with the performance of their arrow shaft. Since Jupiter is designed to have great overall specs, this will be a huge improvement for most players. However, it may not be suitable for everyone. Everyone’s golf is different and there is no single silver bullet that is right for every golfer.
Personally, I think it’s worth giving Jupiter a chance. There is literally no risk with our amazing 100 day trial, plus a lifetime warranty, this is a great product to consider!
