UFC on ESPN 46 headlines a 125-pound fight between contenders Kai Kara-France and Amir Elbazy. Both flyweights made it to the weight for what was the first UFC main event for both of them. All the rest of the card had weight.
The main event show comes after Cara-France (24-10, 1 NC) failed in an interim title fight against Brandon Moreno. Don’t Blink eventually succumbed to the body kick and punches in the third round. Despite the setback, the 30-year-old will be looking to show that he still has plenty in the tank. The New Zealand fighter officially weighed in at 125.5 lbs.
This marks the biggest fight of Elbazy’s career (16-1) to date. “The Prince” is undefeated inside the Octagon, having won five straight since his defeat by Jose Torres in 2019. The Iraqi fighter recently dispatched Alessandro Costa via KO and delivered Francisco Figueiredo with a rear choke. Elbazy tipped the scale at 126 pounds.
The UFC on ESPN 46’s main card will air live on ESPN and ESPN+ this Saturday at 9pm ET / 6pm PT, while the pre-shows begin at 6pm ET / 3pm PT.
