The end of this year’s NBA Finals also marked the end of Udonis Haslem’s career as a professional basketball player. For the league’s oldest player at 43, it marked the end of a 20-year journey.
In the process, Haslem won three NBA championships – in 2006, 2012 and 2013. He was about to end his career with a fourth ring, but it was the Nuggets who took the crown.
Despite not winning the title in the last year of his career, the veteran says he has no regrets and has let his teammates know.
“I wanted to win, but I’m proud of my men, proud of my team,” he said. “I kept repeating to the guys that I have no regrets. I am completely satisfied. I thank these guys for giving me such a wonderful memory… They gave me one last season that I will never forget. That’s all I could ask for.”
