The UConn men’s and women’s basketball programs will kick off the 2023-24 season with First Night on Friday, Oct. 13, inside Gampel Pavilion at 7 p.m., the school announced in a release.
First Night will be a free event, with UConn basketball donors and season ticket holders able to claim a select number of tickets. Most tickets will be made available to students. Festivities will air on WFSB-TV and will stream for free on UConn+ (UConnPlus.tv).

The night will kick off with a block party on Jim Calhoun Way outside of Gampel. The block party will feature food trucks, carnival games, photobooth, live DJ and more.
Players will be drafted into a Blue Team and a White Team ahead of the event, with the teams competing throughout the night.
