the Leicester Riders Another week of pre-season kicked off with another signed player as Rob Paternostro’s side confirmed the return of fan favorite striker Mo Walker for the 2023/24 season.
This will be the Canadian/British big man’s fourth season with the Raiders, after joining for the 2020/21 season, with Walker being an integral part of the club’s treble success in 2022, averaging 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game that year.
Prior to being cut short last season by injury, the University of Minnesota grad was averaging 10.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and shooting 58.6% from the field.
After confirming his signature, Walker said:
“I am excited to be a part of the Knights!
“Anyone who has followed the club and watched my journey knows I have lost time in the past with injury, but I am so grateful for the opportunity to make up for lost time and I look forward to getting back out there in front of the Raiders fans!
Raiders coach Rob Paternostro added:
“We are all looking forward to having Mo back on the field for us next season.
“I thought he started very well last season and was playing good basketball before the injury. He can be very difficult to get along with, he can score in different ways and he has the ability to put real pressure on the opposition defence.
“Mo has always shown great leadership during his time here and we appreciate that both on and off the field.”
