British Basketball Cup finalists Cheshire Phoenix moved quickly to secure the return of talented British striker, David Ulf, for the 2023/24 season.
Ulph joined the club from Manchester Giants last summer and has proven to be a fan favorite for the Nix Nation in the 2022/23 season with hustle and bustle on both ends of the field.
The 6’7 forward averaged 5.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season, helping Phoenix achieve its highest tournament finish and first semifinal appearance since 2016.
After confirming Ulf’s return, Phoenix coach Ben Thomas said:
“Bringing David back was a really easy decision. He’s a great team-mate and someone to be with at the club. On the field, he’s constantly improved throughout the season and has played a huge part in the second round over the past couple of months.
“He has become a fan favorite due to his blue collar work rate on the floor and we will be looking for him to bring that same energy again next season. I am really looking forward to working with him again.”
The 27-year-old added:
“I’m really happy to be back in Cheshire for my second season. The Nix Nation has treated me like family and I’m really excited to keep improving and building on the successful year we’ve had together.”
