Irresponsible rumors
By David PagnottaThe Rangers will play in the 2024 Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium. The Blueshirts would face the Islanders in Game 2 of a back-to-back game, with the Devils and Flyers getting the opening game. As usual, the Rangers would be the “away” team in such a game, as the Rangers could not be the home team away from MSG for specific tax breaks. As always, it is about the money.
I’m told the NHL is going to host 2 Stadium Series games next season in February 2024 at MetLife Stadium on back-to-back days involving 4 teams: Devils/Flyers and Isles/Rangers

The Rangers are currently 4-0 in away games, with wins over the Flyers in the 2012 Winter Classic, Devils and Islanders in the 2014 Stadium Series, and the Buffalo Sabers in the 2018 Winter Classic.
Assuming the 2024 Stadium Series games are accurate, we’ll get our first outdoor game Shesterkin vs Sorokin, a battle between two of the best goaltenders in the NHL.
