The NY Rangers advanced Dylan Roobroeck, a non-OHL center, with the first sixth round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. Roobroech is a mandatory Rangers draft giant at 6’7 and 205 lbs. He scored 15 goals and 53 points as an 18-year-old with Oshawa this season. He, like Rasmus Larsson before him, is getting old.
I’m out of my element in players at this point, but it seems odd that the Rangers would only place one pick a year on a 900-inch guy who doesn’t do much. I’m not saying Rubruk can’t do anything else, because again I don’t know, but he’s another over-the-age giant. Skiing is a problem, it seems.
