Tournament organizers announced Tuesday that the Houston Open will officially return to the spring portion of the PGA Tour schedule and will be held March 28-31 in 2024.
The PGA Tour had previously announced that the tour’s long hiatus would be pushed back to the spring of next year after it was not included in the fall portion of its 2022-23 schedule, now dubbed “FedEx Cup Fall.”
The Houston Open was played once in the week prior to the Masters. In 2019, it was moved to the fall, when interest in professional golf declined after the Tour Championship tournament ended in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
The event will fill the space on the tour schedule vacated by the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin, Texas, which will not return in 2024.
The tournament will continue at Memorial Park Golf Course. Tony Finau is the defending champion after winning in November 2022.
