As previously reported, the Grizzlies have officially signed winger Desmond Bane to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though crook Five years at a value of $205 million.
Bane, who started all 58 games last season, averaged career highs of 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists, helping the Grizzlies to the playoffs.
Since being drafted in 2020, Bane leads all players in 3-point field goal percentage and holds the franchise record for free throw percentage. The 24-year-old appeared in 202 regular season games, averaging 16.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
He earned All-Rookie Second Team honors in 2020-21 and participated in the Rising Stars event. The contract extension shows the Grizzlies’ confidence in Bane’s growth and his influence on the team’s success.
